at the BOS Center in Springfield | October 28, 2023
The Diocese of Springfield in Illinois is hosting a historic celebration and Mass to commemorate two significant events: the ongoing Year of the Eucharist and the 100th anniversary of the transfer of the See city of the Diocese of Springfield from Alton to Springfield. The event is open to all and free of charge.
The Eucharistic Congress will feature renowned Catholic speakers such as Sister M. Karolyn Nunes, FSGM, Father Chase Hilgenbrinck, Father Denis Robinson, OSB, and Dr. Scott Hahn.
Attendees can also explore Catholic vendors, participate in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, receive the sacrament of confession, and view two documentaries: “God is Alive | Incredible stories of faith and miraculous events in Central Illinois” and “The Chair,” which showcases the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield and the diocese’s history.
The day culminates in a Mass, where a large audience of over 7,000 Catholics from all over the diocese will receive Jesus in the holy Eucharist, embodying the essence of the Year of the Eucharist.
