Becoming Intentional Disciples – Ask & Trust

Ask & Trust

“Ask for a sign from the Lord, your God; let it be deep as the netherworld or as high as the sky!” (Is 7:11). Like Ahaz, sometimes I feel like too much of a coward to ask the Lord for signs. Maybe it’s a fear of the prayer being answered against my hope, or maybe it’s just a fear of getting in God’s way. Either way, fear is not of the Lord. I desperately desire to have the trust Joseph deeply held in God. His obedience and faith seem unshakable! I think this weekend the Lord is saying your name and my name like HE did 2000 years ago to Joseph, “Do not be afraid, take Mary into your home” (Matthew 1:20). Let us encourage each other to hope and believe in the impossible, even if it means persecution from the world.

What do you want from God?

Do you trust the Lord like Joseph?

Who can you share your faith in God with?

Come Holy Spirit – Lord, we thank You and praise You for all You do and all You have done for us. Thank You for Your living words that give us hope; thank You for the grace of faith. Lord, please grant us humble, unshakable faith like St. Joseph. Help us to be confident in the message of hope that comes to us; help us trust fully in You, Lord Jesus. Please forgive me for my lack of trust. Lead us and guide us to deeper conversions and stronger convictions. We love You, Lord.
